b. 1984 Devonport, Tasmania, Australia
Chelsea Cameron completed her secondary education in Tasmania
before moving to Melbourne to study Graphic Design.
After three years of study and two years in the field
Chelsea decided to change artistic direction, enrolling in a fine arts degree at RMIT
majoring in Painting. Chelsea completed one year of study at RMIT and is now
working from her home studio in Melbourne.
In my work, simple motifs point to deeper philosophical and spiritual ideas.
Digging For Gems (2011) is an analogy about searching for what is really important;
delving below the surface to find the real treasure of life.
Colour is a major part of the way I speak to the viewer.
I am fascinated by the power of colour to add meaning and depth.
